The beginning of the 21^st century has seen the dawn of a new era; the era of machineries and automation. Most of the industries, which were previously involved in simple production procedures, and usage of labor-intensive technologies have shifted to capital-intensive technologies and hence have converted their production methods into automated production procedures.

This phenomenon is often known as the industrial automation. In the context of industrial automation, it should be noted that usage of machineries does not make automation successful. It is the actually the usage of machineries and production procedures which can be controlled automatically, without any human help. After the invention of computers and other technological breakthroughs, the world has seen the dawn of industrial automation. In most of the industries now a day, whether it be an automobile industry or heavy capital good industry, most of the production processes are controlled by machineries which are controlled by no one and they function automatically.

These machineries are adept in performing several pre-determined tasks, which are controlled by a processing unit or even a computer. Very less amount of skilled workers are required for the tasks to be performed and hence this increases the profitability of the companies. And this fact is very much true. Industrial automation has enhanced the profitability of several industries.

However, it should also be noted that the initial investment in the automation process is huge and most of the industries taking up the strategy of industrial automation often suffered from the lack of funds to turn their production procedures into an automatic one. This lack of availability of funds has often hindered in the way of growth of several industries.

Automation companies and their working procedures!

Several researches and findings have proved the fact that automation of any industry, be it a part of the primary sector or be it a part of the secondary sector, enables the company to increase its productivity and thereby its profit as well. The reason behind this is that the automation companies often perform most of their tasks using automated machineries that enable higher productivity as in comparison to the human workers who would have produced much less in the same time as in comparison to the machine which is being used in the production process.

There are great scopes for the automation companies to prosper in their field of work. The reason is that, initially automation industries may require a huge amount of fund in order to get their entire production process automated. However, at the end of the day, the automation industries would be earning higher profits as in comparison to any other industry, which is using human worker as the source of labor.

However, it should also be noted that according to many economist, capital productivity can never persist for long if there is an absence of skilled laborer. Therefore, everything melts down to the fact that usage of machineries can never achieve the goal of raising the productivity in the automation industries all by its own. It is also up to skilled works men who would be in control of the entire production process in order to increase the productivity and profitability of the automation companies.

A recent trend has emerged where the IT sector and the heavy capital goods manufacturing industries are shifting from usage of skilled labor to automation. They are using automatic machineries and procedures to increase their over all productivity. The quality is seen to be improving over time. Automation companies, which have been making profits, are generally inclined in using automatic machineries and lesser amount of laborer for their production process. Most of the companies are following this trend of automation and it is for the better if these companies shift from the old methods of production and convert themselves to automation companies.
